My MIL keeps insisting that I should not buy anything for the baby such as a crib or Moses basket because she has friends who will give it to us secondhand.

But I don’t think it’s safe or hygienic to use a secondhand crib or Moses basket. I told her I want to buy a new convertible crib that the baby can use until she’s 3-4 years old. MIL kept insisting that it is unnecessary.

🙄 Am I overreacting? I don’t think it’s such a big deal for me to decorate my baby’s nursery as it’s our first baby.
