Unsure it was a period?

Long story short, I was supposed to start my period on the 7th or 8th. I actually think I started on the 2nd. However, This was supposed to around the time I possibly could have implantation bleeding (2-3 of May). What I’m unsure of is where or not it’s my period super early or not. Implantation, from what I’ve read, is brown/pinkish. Mine started out brown, but became like a bright red. My period normally last about 4-5 days. I woke this morning and changed my tampon, per usual. However, there was barely anything on it and it had some brown on it. If I’m coming off my period Ive barely made it 3days into it. So, could it be a period? Or implantation bleeding? Part of me wants to take a test, but I don’t want to waste one and the test be negative. I had really bad cramps and bloated like crazy the first day. I did read that implantation bleeding can last anywhere between a few hours to a few days with either little/constant flow. So idk 🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️ Help?
