5 week scan ?

I see a lot a woman get a ultrasound at 5 weeks my ob wants to wait till 7 , I have had an ectopic and I’m scared of another. They took two hcg blood draws and they doubled but that does not rule out an ectopic completely. With my ectopic I was in bad pain at by 6 weeks and now I feel like I’m just waiting for something really bad to happen when they could just give me a US at 5 weeks and avoid possibly losing my only tube.
 Should I push harder for a 5 week US just to make sure it’s growing in the right place?

I would consider being pretty firm on asking, I experienced an ectopic in February... didn’t loose either tube thank god, but pregnant again along with doubling HCG draws and my doctor is seeing me next Thursday... I’ll either be 7 weeks like my last period shows or 6 weeks since I ovulated way late... my doctor told me from the get go he wanted me in early to be sure

I would ask as well. I went in this week to confirm pregnancy and I am only 4 weeks 3 days. They offered to do an ultrasound because of my past two miscarriages and make sure everything is in the right spot. I think you have a right to make sure it's all in the right spot.
