Am I at risk for Zika? Trying to conceive...

Just came back from 2 beaches in Mexico, which is high risk for Zika. I covered myself in bug spray (I’m a magnet). I got one bite but not even sure it was a mosquito as it didn’t itch at all. Should I get tested for Zika anyways? No symptoms

I believe I read that you shouldn’t try for up to six months after returning from a ZIKA infected place. However, I’ve been to Mexico a bunch and always get gnarly bites, but haven’t stopped trying. Maybe it’s dumb on my part but I think sometimes I’m too cautious and worry too much.

We waited 5 months after we got back from Mexico to start trying. We didn’t dare risk it.

I would get tested just in case. If you have a bug bite i’d be concerned. Also  your partner can have it and it can be given to you through unprotected sex, id wait the estimated time to concieve if your trying.. But just in case seek medical attention. We can’t tell you 🤷🏻‍♀️
