I've never had a vaccine before except for one time like 8 years ago, I got the flu shot. I had gotten the flu shot because my grandpa was fighting leukemia cancer and during flu season we thought it would be best to have the shot before going to see him. Just in case. About 3 days after I got the flu shot, I got EXTREMELY sick for about a week, with the flu im assuming (not 100%.) Prior to getting the shot I never had the flu of my knowledge and I havent got it since (also havent gotten the shot since.) Well, at my next appointment (28 weeks), i'm suppose to be getting my TDAP shot, I told my OB that I would as she explained everything and how it will protect the baby til shes old enough to get her own shot, but now I feel like nervous as heck about it as I read online about potential side effects. She told me all about the possible fever and whatbnot but not that it can cause seziures!? & im just thinking, if I had an awful reaction to the flu shot, im going to have a bad reaction to the TDAP shot. I feel like I got so sick from the flu shot because my parents never vaccinated me so my body just got totally thrown off. I do plan on vaccinating my baby, even though my babys father is totally not down for it as his mother is VERY anti-vax. But I just feel like the possible side effects are better than a dead baby and or killing someone elses baby. I will be getting the TDAP vaccine, but how was your experience with it? side effects? no side effects?
