I’m currently a jr & will be graduating next year. I turn 18 in less than 5 months. My best friend (since 7th) & I have feelings for each other. My mom has known him since we were freshman because he was always over at my house. She knows he likes me but doesnt know I like him back. We plan to go on a road trip after graduation but without direction. We’re just going wherever the road takes us. So I have 2 things. First, is that my mom is overprotective & will probably freak if we leave for more than a day. She never even let me go on school field trips because she imagines the school bus blowing up or crashing. I understand her concerns as a mother but at one point she has to let her Little Birds fly. I’ll be 18 by then & working. Idk how to bring up the idea to her so she won’t go crazy. I know she trusts me with him (she’s left us alone before & nothing happened) but it’s different being on the road vulnerable to everything and everyone. So how do I come about this? Also, is it a good idea? I’ve always wanted to explore new places & it feels right doing so with him.
