Moving in together at 18?

Sooo. My boyfriend is moving in with me this August! He is gonna be 20 then and I will be 18. We're gonna live in the upstairs of my moms house and pay a bit of rent every month. We're serious and both want to eventually get married and have kids, and we will have been dating for a year by this fall. What are your opinions on this? I don't want my relationship to be influenced by other people but I would like to hear opinions or advice on living together!!! Thank you ❤

Idk what kind of person your mom is but for me living with my mom and a boyfriend would be hell. Lol. You all need to sit down and talk about bills, rules and chores so that it’s not a hostile environment after he moves in.

In my opinion you never know if you can be with someone until you live with them so I think it’s a good idea, plus its in your parents house so if anything happens you will still have a place to stay. I moved out at that age as well.

My husband and I have been together since we were 14, got engaged at 18, moved in with his family at 19(my mother and I had a falling out, was resolved in a couple weeks, but didn't move back home), my father helped us get an apartment so I could go to school (lasted for 6 months, we lived 2 hrs away from family and we missed them, so we moved back), lived with his family again till we saved up enough money, moved out, and married at 21. We learned alot about one another when we lived together. We had our ups and downs, but I'm glad we gave it a shot. Now we have been married for 3 years, have an almost 2 yr old, and another baby on the way. It can work, but you have to try.

Moved in with my husband shortly after high school graduation. We have now been together for a decade and have 2 children! It works if you are committed and willing to make it work! Moving in can be tough initially to try and get used to the other person but deft a big step together! Good luck!
