Couldn’t ride in ambulance with baby

I had to deliver at home a few weeks ago so the paramedics had to transport us to the hospital afterwards. They told me my daughter had to ride separately from mom. She was able to ride in a separate ambulance with her dad so I didn’t say much plus a lot was going on so I didn’t think to question it but thinking back, what’s the reason for that?
