Help w/ Destination Wedding?

My fiancé and I have decided to marry in a different state this October. As we’ve been to about 12 different states together thus far. We’re adventurous people!

Has anyone ever planned a destination wedding? How in the world do you find a officiant ahead of time? Anything I should do that maybe you didn’t think of?

I’m hoping for a beach, ocean, or up in the mountains. He prefers the beach.
