2nd baby shower?

I'm seeing a lot of women on here getting 2nd baby showers and I'm just wondering what peoples thoughts are. like, I had a baby shower for my son and I'm gonna be honest, I'd love to have one for this baby (19wks today) but I feel like I'd get bitched out for it.
my teen cousin (just turned 16) wants to throw me a gender reveal party but she's a kid and will need help (if she's serious about it that is). I asked my mom if she would help her and she never answered me.
should I just see if my hubby is on board with us throwing our own baby shower?

We are planning to have a sprinkle, just a smaller version of a shower. We are having our second boy so we still have lots of stuff, but that was 5 years ago so some if our things have disappeared or expired. I don't see it as a bad thing, I just always prefer someone throw it for us instead of planning it ourselves.

I honestly don't see anything wrong with having a second baby shower. It's celebrating a new life so why not? I just wouldn't have a baby registry the second time around, but that's my preference. Do what you want and don't worry about what others think.

I am thinking about having a ‘meet and greet’ for baby #2 after she is born to celebrate her. I will be specifying no gifts, however, as I personally feel weird throwing myself a shower and having people bring gifts. If someone else were throwing it, I think it would be different, but I definitely don’t expect it and we really have so little that we need. I will feel bad if I do nothing to formally celebrate this baby though!

I didn’t do a second baby shower even though my children are very far apart and different genders. I just feel like if I’m having more than one child then i need to “support my own habit”. LOL but do what you want. If you’re on a budget and could use the freebies then also-fuckin-loutely have one!

It’s been ten years since my youngest was born. This baby was a complete surprise and we have NOTHING. I have a completely different friends circle this time who is INSISTING on giving a shower, I even told them I felt weird about doing a second one, I was outvoted and they promised to keep it small. However, all the big stuff has been given to us used from a few of our friends and the first two were allergic to all kinds of stuff (redheads) so we asked for people not to bring diapers and wipes. Basically my girl group is getting together because we love each other and there will be cake 😂😁

I had a baby shower with my first and just a reveal party for my second. This is just my opinion (I'm not bashing people who have more than one shower, this is just how I feel about it, to each their own, no judgement from this mama!) a baby shower is thrown for new moms because they may not know what a baby will need. So the other women/moms in their family throw a baby shower to help supply you with the things you may need. With following children you know what you need and don't need others to help to know what you need. Depending on how far apart in age your children are, you may already have most of what you'll need anyway. Like I said. to each their own. I had a gender reveal with my second so that I could still have a party to celebrate my second baby and some friends and family still brought things they knew I'd need, like diapers and wipes, but I didn't ask them to. It was still a lot of fun though!

I had a shower for my first child my daughter2009. And I got pregnant in 2016 I had a shower and reveal for that baby. I wanted the reveal more than anything but the shower was great and turned out wonderful. Invites were sent to everyone to just come join the fun. We didn’t expect anything and didn’t really have anything on the registry (which no one used). I think it’s fine. Some people find it tacky.

we had a baby shower with just immediate family last month and our parents were the ones that got things from our registry. well, they gave us more than enough cash to get the things ourselves. still had cute decorations and cake and all. it was very nice.

I have a 9 year old and we had a baby shower. I am currently pregnant again and we will probably have another shower. My situation is that this is my fiancé’s first child. My 9year old has a different father but my fiancé is all he has ever known. So we are having another baby shower mainly for my fiancé and his family. I think this is a good enough reason, I also think that if the baby is a different gender then another baby shower is okay. Otherwise, same daddy and/ or same gender then just have a “sprinkle” (small baby shower).

My friend offered to throw me one since I'm having a boy and my first is a girl. I'm not registering and it's pretty low key. It would be nice to get clothes, since my husband likes to be thrifty, but I've also already started buying and making things.
