Will you bring goodie bags for the nurses?

This will be my second time around and didn't do it the first time but I really wanted to. If so any suggestions?

Yes. Agreeing with the other comment, I have an issue trusting things not sealed from strangers. So I did these. They’re little tumblers (I’ve got about a dozen) and they have various kinds of hard candies and chocolates, a sealed mini lotion and a sealed mini hand sanitizer. I know people have done like cupcakes and such, but I decided to go this route.

I know the hospital I work at, nurses aren’t allowed to accept goods or money from patients (flowers and cards are allowed tho) but telling administration how your stay was and specifically naming the nurses you appreciated goes a LONG WAY. I think goodie bags are a great idea, every hospital is different so maybe the one you deliver at is allowed to accept gifts💕 very thoughtful of you

I didn’t the last time, but we sent fruit and chocolate covered strawberries to the labor & delivery nurses station about a week after we went home.  My induction took a long time and we interacted with quite a few nurses while we were there.  We will likely do something similar this time around.

When my husband went home to check on the pets and take a shower the morning after our son was born, he brought back 2 dozen donuts for the nurses. They loved it!!  We had several nurses stop in to say thank you to us, so it was very appreciated. We’ll likely do something similar this time around.

I’m a nurse and yes we don’t like homemade food for obvious reasons. Great things to do are have bagels, donuts, coffee delivered or pizzas. Pinterest has a ton of great basket ideas with Starbucks coffee drinks, granola bars, etc. You could also do chapsticks and hand lotions.  Edible arrangements are also always a hit. They’ll appreciate any token!

I have a friend that works in L&D; and she said unless it’s store bought and left in the nurses station she feels weird taking stuff brought in.

Similar situation - my husband is a police officer and they get bakery and such brought in all the time but unless they know the person that brought it in or it’s store bought and not been opened most of them won’t even touch it. It’s obviously a different world for police officers than nurses but just another perspective.

I'm stressed out enough trying to have everything ready for the new baby, now I have to stress about getting gifts??! I had no idea this was a "thing".. it's been 10 yrs since my last baby...

My husband is a chef at a nice and well-known restaurant where we live. He was going to bring in desserts for the nursing staff, but reading through the comments, I didn’t even think about “homemade” food, yikes the world we live in today. I guess I’m wondering, would the food from the restaurant he works at be something they would even eat?? Or would it fall under “ homemade?”
