change of blood type??

All my life I could have sworn I was O+ and my mum insists her and my dad were O+. My blood test at my first scan  revealed that I am actually A+. Has this happened to anyone else? Could it be an error in my test and will my next test say What my blood type is also? I am in UK at 11+8 weeks.

Yeah it's impossible to change your blood type and impossible to have blood type A without one of your parents having type A or AB. Maybe your mom is mistaken. It's not common that a lab makes a mistake like that.

It’s not possible to change blood types, it could be an error but I feel like those are unlikely. Have your parents get their blood types tested, it’s helpful information, one of your parents has to be blood type A.

Either there was a mistake (highly unlikely) or your mom is mistaken. Or maybe your dad isn’t your dad? Maybe you were adopted? Lol either way hope this chart helps

this didn't happen to me, but to my brother when he first joined the military.  my mother always told us we were O+, and knows she is from her pregnancies and the military, but my brother was coming up A+. had them retest several times to confirm. turns out my dad must be Ao+ so we ended up one each.

If both your biological parents are O, you would have to be O as well. One of your parents is likely A.

I guess I had no reason to know my blood type until I gave birth. Nobody ever told me until then.
