what’s your take on cardboard applicators?

My sisters pregnant so she told me she had a full box of unused tampons to give me. I was like yes free tampons! Realized they were cardboard applicator 😑 now they just sit there for emergencies only. Don’t want to scrape up my vagina walls thanks lol

I use tampons that have no applicator at all, or I use a menstrual cup.  I feel that applicators make unnecessary trash, and using a cup is even better - waaaaaay less expensive, no trash in landfills, and no risk of toxic shock.  That said, everyone needs to do what works for them, but it's good to be aware of all the options.

I have used both plastic and cardboard. They don't bother me at all, but I found they go in much better on heavy days.
