I make him feel like a woman?!

Today my man and I were talking and he told me I make him feel like a woman. We were talking about taking a couples trip to Italy and I would pay for the tickets and hotel. He would pay for food and shopping. Then he said I made him feel like a woman. I asked what that meant and he just says oh never mind. 
What does he mean by this?! Did I do something wrong not letting him pay for half the trip? It would even out anyway!
