infection causing sores?

can vaginal infections cause sores? like really bad yeast or bv? I'm prone to yeast infections, I get them so easily. anyways... this is the second time I've had a slit or paper cut shaped sore, in the same spot both times, right at the top of where my labia meets my clitoris hood. I have a gyn appointment in a few weeks, soonest one they could give me, but I'm scared to death they're going to tell me its herpes. my husband and have both had sex with other people before we got married, but have been faithful to each other for 6 years. I get the occasional cold sore on my mouth, less than once every year, when I'm over the top stressed out, but never vaginal outbreaks or anything. could it have been dormant this whole time and 6 years into marriage I'm having my first outbreak? I'm really scared. please help.
