Who else experienced/experiences violence or abuse from their parents?

Question

Whenever I hear about domestic violence I hear a lot about domestic violence in relationships and a few times, in school, they talked about one parent being violent towards the other, but I’ve never heard about the children who experience domestic abuse from their parents/guardians. Is this because they don’t know how many of us there are or because the isn’t that many of us after all??

I know this is an old post but basically my mum has bipolar but never gets treatment from it and we are certain shes just mental in general.
We were raised watching her go crazy and disrespect my dad she would always argue with him and try to bring him down, say to me and my sisters that her and dad are getting a divorce and that we would have to chose who to live with and said if we didn’t pick her then she would never be in our lives again and sit in the Lounge ripping up her only wedding pictures so my youngest sister worried and hid  the last photo of them at their wedding. All this happened just because my dad would be home late and with good reason .
That’s not even everything though my mum would bully and abuse us all. She would try to get to me and my sisters she would say to me that she wishes I was dead, that I’d get cancer, call me evil and say she wishes I was the miscarriage and that her other baby lived. Literally all over nothing !! Once I went on a date with a guy which she said she was fine with and because I didn’t go to the pub after, where her and dad was she went home and smashed my room up. Threw my makeup out of the window and ripped my wall display down.
When my friend died in a car crash and we went to an event to pay our respects and collect cash for her funeral my mum blocked the door and said stuff like “ she is probably glad she’s dead cause it means she’s away from you. She wouldn’t want a friend like you “ and when I was having none of it and went to walk past her she punched the wall and screamed at me

I grew up with both parents but my mom fell out of love with my dad so she would always put him down in front of us and just verbal stuff like that and how she feels he lied about loving her. I'm not sure what that would be called but it did have a very serious effect on me and my relationships bc I ended up being in an abusive relationship for almost 2 years and he abused me emotionally, mentally and then finally physically which is when I left and had the cops called. now I'm learning how to be in a healthy relationship with a new boyfriend who is just amazing so there is life after abuse no matter who it is from. you will overcome it and become even stronger
