How fast can you get pregnant after birth?

Me and my husband want our kids close in age, just had our daughter 4 weeks ago and we did the deed last night, I didn’t get my period yet, is there a chance I could be pregnant?

You shouldn't even have sex until 6 weeks postpartum unless doctor approves. Pregnancy and childbirth put your body through a lot and it is not advised or healthy to have children so close in age. I'd let your body have a few months to recover and then start trying. I know many women have kids close in age and will tell you it's fine and dandy BUT there are many more risks when you don't fully recover. Just something to consider... And yes, you're extremely fertile so you can most definitely get pregnant.

Speak with your doctor and follow their advice, not just what people on here say. I was approved to have sex at 5 weeks pp. my doctor recommended waiting at least 6 months to try again. You have to wait at least 6 weeks to have sex again so your body can properly heal.

How fast CAN you? Almost immediately. 
How fast SHOULD you? That’s a different story. The shortest answer I got from any doctor was 6 months, most said wait 15-18 months before getting pregnant again. Either way you shouldn’t be having sex, unprotected or otherwise, until at least 6 weeks pp , once your doctor has cleared you.

I agree. Give yourself some time to heal. Unless you are 40 (like myself haha), you have a lot of time to make the 4 kids happen. At 4 weeks PP, your placenta site in your uterus is still totally not healed yet. You should allow that to heal before having sex as you can introduce a uterine infection.

Doctors recommend you wait 6 weeks before having sex but hey also recommend waiting 18 months before getting pregnant again. Your body needs time to heal! Getting pregnant sooner puts you and the new baby at risk!
