is it normal to ovulate 7-9 days before period?

I'm tracking my ovulation and it's getting darker but I'm 9 days away from my period. just checking. I also have ewcm!

Ovulation dictates when your period will arrive and not when you had your last period. So, if your opk's are on,y just starting to get darker chances are you will ovulate in the next few days. Your period will not be due in 7-9 days but will move in due date to 12-14 days after you ovulate.
So for example if you ovulate on the 1st June you would expect your period from the 13th-15th June. If then in July you didnt ovulate on the 1st, but rather ovulated on the 10th you would expect your period on the 23-25th... make sense?

Well as I have read from a glow article no matter when you ovulate you should get af 12-14 days after. If it’s coming before then you have a luteal defect and pregnancy will be hard to achieve. It’s definitely something to talk to the dr about sometimes I ovulate early and sometimes later but always get af 13 days after positive opk. Lots of baby dust to you

It depends on how long or reliable your cycles are really. I Ovd on CD 32 and it's now CD 46. some months normal cycle women can just have a weird cycle. mine are always busted.

A 7-9 day luteal phase is very short. (Mine is 9-10) Ot sucks. Makes it harder t get started. Good luck!!

Nothing is really normal, people vary so much. The average is 2 weeks before a period but some people ovulate really early or really late.

I wouldn’t say it’s normal, but it’s not abnormal. Cycles can fluctuate and everyone is different! 
The only issue with late ovulation is that if your period still comes on time, you could have a short luteal phase and embryos would have a hard time implanting.
