Mothers Day rant
So, I work in retail and all day people were saying things like "be nice to your mother tomorrow" and "appreciate your mom tomorrow". I get what they're trying to do, but not everyone has a good relationship with their mother. My mom stole from me, lied to me, and was pretty manipulative/abusive my whole life so having strangers tell me allll day to do something nice for her gets a bit annoying. And I get that they don't know any of this, and their intentions are good, but I don't know, maybe just don't assume things about People? Some people don't even have moms, or their mom has passed away and it could be a sensitive topic for them. Besides I'd rather spend mother's day with my own baby, but I'll be stuck at work listening to more of these comments instead.
