Birth control

Hi, my names trinity and I am 16 years old I have been considering birth control for a while in my head cause all my friends are on the pill and tell me the benefits and problems with it like it lightens some girls periods or even stops them and also for my friends who are sexually active but I am scared to ask my mom if I should because she is always telling me I shouldn’t because it messes up your hormones and all really important things that you need to reproduce so I am trying to decide should I take it cause I am hearing it can help with periods as well plz ladies I need your advice 💯☹️
