Do I have to take my pill at the same time everyday?

Question

I'm on a combined pill (Ortho Tri Cyclen) and I take it about the same time each day (from 11 am to around noon or one) but is it important to take them a the exact same time all the time? Because they're have been days I forgot to take them until late in the evening because of school and other times I completley missed and had to take two the next day. It doesn't happen often but I was just curious
Mainly because I've read so many different things about it.

For the pill to be fully effective you have to take it at the same time every day (usually you have a 1hr grace period through- so if you normally take it at 11am then you'd have till 12pm to take it to be considered perfect use). Taking the pill late or missing pills will decrease it's effectiveness. If you're not having sex it's not a big deal, but if you are then you should take it at the same time as that gives you the best chance at avoiding pregnancy. Some women don't take it at the same time every day, but I wouldn't risk it. Read the pamphlet that came with your pill for more information. 
And if you have trouble taking it on time then you might want to talk to your doctor about other methods of birth control.
