my older sister just told me a new term she learned called "vaginismus." it's a condition where the vaginal muscles involuntarily contract and prevents anything from being inserted or penetrated. I haven't been diagnosed yet because I just heard about it yesterday but this would explain everything. I have never been able to wear a tampon, menstrual cup, insert fingers (pinkie), etc.

A while ago, my gyno checked it out herself and just said my vagina is small and my hymen isn't stretched. While that's also a possibility, my sister, who's the same size as me, doesn't have this problem. So ruling it as "vagina is just small" doesn't make sense to me. but I'm not a doctor, so what do I know?

anyway, because I moved, I'll have to find a new gyno so I can see if this is actually what I have because I also can't think of what could have caused it. fortunately, it hasn't been a barrier in my life. I don't mind using pads, if anything, I prefer them. second, I'm gay, so telling a partner I don't want/can't be penetrated isn't an issue.

but my real question is if anyone here is also experiencing the same thing? sharing stories or how you discovered this, if you're going through treatments, or causes would be appreciated!
