Am I in the wrong?

My mother , sister and I got into an argument about me cleaning the cat box and basement that smells like cat urine! I just found out that I'm 5 1/2 weeks pregnant and I know I'm not allowed to be cleaning that stuff. My MOMS CAT keeps having kittens by the litters. It's not my responsibility! My sister is pregnant also and was on my mother's side!!! I'm so fustrated! Am I wrong for defending my little one and me?

If you have to clean up after cats wear a mask, and gloves and wash your hands well when you’re done and you’ll be fine

um, I say move out. From the sound of it this seems like a unsanitary living situation.  you don't want to live like that pregnant. let alone bring a baby home to that. start saving and making arrangements.  good luck.

Ummm. Why is the cat that keeps having litters not spayed already? Statistically, about 7 million cats per year get ethuanized in shelters do to over breeding and irresponsible owners not spaying and neaturing. Those are just the ones that end up in shelters. The amount of ferrell cats is twice that. Its also recommend that for every cat, you have 2 litters boxes. THAT ARE CLEAN. Cat pee does not come out of anything easily and even then, the cat will still always be able to smell it and continue peeing there. Once it starts, its not going to just stop. So not only are your cats having litters of kittens but their litter box isnt being cleaned. REHOME YOUR CATS TO PEOPLE WHO WANT TO TAKE CARE OF THEM. PROBLEM SOLVED.

Wow... just wow.. people amaze me sometimes.. I’m so sorry that you have to go through that. I live with a roommate who refuses to clean anything he has a puppy and so do I..  me and my husband take our puppy out with us when we go places sometimes and we can come back and he’s blaming my dog for crapping in the floor when my dog was with me the whole day.. people suck..

From the sounds (lmk if I’m wrong) you and your mother both have cats and you only clean up after yours? Sounds fair to me 🤷🏻‍♀️ and no no you’re so not wrong for fending for your lo, ammonia is dangerous to a developing baby. It’s so not worth the risk, especially if they’re not your cats

gloves, masks. works just fine. actually if you ask a doctor the way cat fececs can harm you is if you eat it while pregnant. but gloves work. very childish to argue over. just clean it up, get the cat fixed.
