spotting and cramps

Hey ladies, this is my first pregnancy, I'm over 7 weeks. About an hour ago I went to the washroom and saw some brown discharge (sorry for the details), then I felt some cramping like light period cramps. I was super upset thinking I was having a miscarriage. I looked up if this is normal during early pregnancy, I read about spotting and how this is normal, also cramps are common. This is a huge relief, I'm still worried tho, I really don't want to lose my baby... Has anyone had a similar experience when you feel like you're about to have your period during early pregnancy?
