Overweight & pregnant?

Question

I want to get pregnant & the only thing stopping me is my weight... if I decide to get over it and get pregnant is it possible to lose weight during pregnancy? Can I mention it to the doctor? Please post pictures of your before, during, and after pregnancy? 🤰🏽 💖

I wish I would have lost 20lbs before  getting pregnant. If losing weight is the only thing holding you back from getting pregnant, then what is the hold up? Also, it is common to lose weight in the first trimester due to nausea/vomiting. But after that, you really shouldn’t be.

I’ve always been plus sized, and I can honestly say no one ever told me to lose weight while TTC. Of course it’s something I’ve always heard and read to do. I started eating really healthy and exercising more within the last month and I found out I was pregnant this last weekend. It took me about 5 months to conceive. Did I mention I’m also 35? I had all the cards against me. Do what makes you happy and feel the best!

no not idea to lose weight while pregnant. I'm 220 and lost about 10 lbs and doctor told me that i needed to eat more foods high in fat like milk.. it's not idea To lose weight while pregnant.

I'm just under 27 weeks pregnant and have lost 25lbs so far. However, it's due to an early GD diagnosis and a complete change in my diet. While I admit it's been kinda nice losing instead of gaining up to this point it's added lots of anxiety about hurting the baby. Luckily nugget is super healthy and growing. Dr says as long as it continues to be healthy she won't harp but has given suggestions to bulk up my low carb diet as she wants me to gain atleast 10lbs. Even without GD lots of overweight women lose weight but don't actively try to!

I have always been overweight and yes most doctors will tell you to lose weight but it does t always happen that way. The doctors will tell you not to actively lose weight but to eat healthy and be active, do things like swimming and yoga.

I’ve only lost 5 lbs while being pregnant and my doctor was very happy because I steadily lost it and it wasn’t all at once. I wish I focused on losing more before getting pregnant though. I don’t have as much energy to work out, I live on a 2nd floor apartment and the further along I get the harder it is to make the trip up the stairs.

It's not really recommended that you actively try to lose weight while you're pregnant, but you should eat a healthy diet. it's not uncommon to lose weight just due to morning sickness and your body's need for increased calories. Definitely talk to your doctor - they'll steer you on the right path.
