so what are the difference between Christianity, baptism? Catholic, Mormons? how did you find your religion and beliefs?

Daisy has provided an excellent explanation. I might add also that the generally accepted litmus test for "is this religion Christian or not?" would be "does this religion's core beliefs affirm the beliefs outlined in the Nicene Creed?".

Christianity is an umbrella term that encompasses; Catholicism, Orthodoxy and Protestantism. Protestantism can also be broken into two categories: Trinitarian and non Trinitarian. 
Catholicism and Orthodoxy are rather similar and those who don't understand them, will typically confuse them. They are not denominations.*  
Protestantism is more difficult to define. We could name the traditional denominations, but then we'd also have to name their offshoots. An average guess is about 45,000 various denominations/offshoots, including mainline Protestantism.       
 Without getting into a large theogical discussion, differences vary in regards to simple things like what is acceptable music for church to Theological issues that others consider heresy.                
 I am the religion I am because 1. My parents brought me up in it. 2. I chose it as an adult.

Christianity is the overarching belief for all of these sects of religions. Christianity is the belief in Jesus Christ, under God. Each different section is a different interpretation of the Bible, since it is a text that cannot be taken word-for-word literally. So, finding your denomination is really just finding a church that suits you and makes you feel welcome and comfortable.

The differences have been illustrated below (by several excellent posts). Since the second question asks the personal side, if you don’t mind my story, I grew up in a church and fell along the church line. I didn’t have a major crisis of faith, but I did grow up pretty alone and only had God to rely on through that, and when you just have one thing left to rely on, walking away is a lot harder. That being said, I did dive into questions people asked regarding God and I made those questions my own in an attempt to seek the answers I can find (I found many, but not all). Through this I came to a conclusion that the Bible is the foundation and any who follow Scripture truly, from whatever denomination, is with me. We may disagree on secondary issues, but if the primary stuff lines up, I can go to any church whether it be Catholic, Lutheran, Baptist, etc. (not Mormon. That’s not real Christianity). Likewise, any church that doesn’t fully follow scripture, so a difference in primary theology, would be not a good place for me, whether that’s a Catholic, Lutheran, Baptist, etc. church. Denominations declare many things. Sometimes the individual churches practice differently (like Westboro “Baptist” Church). It’s always important to look at the individual for the primary stuff.

I let go of all that I was taught, and found my own personal connection to Spirit. The only label I put on myself is Spiritual.
