Is your baby sleeping with a blanket yet?

My daughter is still not sleeping with a blanket at night. I give her one during naps when I’m awake to keep an eye on her but I still feel unsure about giving her one at night. She could kind of take or leave it. I know they say after a year it’s fine, but it’s such a big “ no no” and talked so strongly against before they’re a year old, I’m just not sure what to do.

My son moves around way too much for a blanket. We're perfectly happy with a sleep sack and will continue with one for as long as possible. I've read they can help prevent crib escapes too when the time comes for that! It's getting hot here too, but he's comfortable sleeping in just a short-sleeved onesie plus a thin cotton sleep sack. I figure I like to sleep with a light blanket on me all year long and it seems he does too. 🙂

I just started putting a small blanket in the crib with baby a few days ago. He's a week shy of 14 months. I spent 45 minutes taking every blanket he owns and smushing it into my face to see if I could breath through it. I looked like an idiot sitting on the floor, surrounded by baby blankets, and breathing like I ran a mile. He's sleeping better though. My MIL told me yesterday that I need to put a twin sized down comforter in the crib with him. HELL NO. Just NO. Baby can roll over, stand and shuffle around, and pull things off of his head and face... I'm still nervous about it.

My daughter has had a blanket since she moved into her crib at three months old. It’s a proper crib quilt. She sleeps at the bottom of the crib so she can’t wriggle any further down and under it, and I tuck it in around the sides of the crib and the end of the quilt tucks right in under the mattress. She’s never once gotten caught under it or pulled it out where it would be a risk.

She has a tiny blanket. Not quite as small as a lovey, but way smaller than a normal blanket. She won’t sleep without it.

My son has a comfort blankie, it's a small crochetted blanket I made for him when he was younger. It is getting hot here in CO, so no need for another blanket. When I do put him down with one I am scared 9f the consequences, but he also gets frustrated with it. My son is 14 months old

She sleeps in a sleep sack but that’s only some nights since it’s getting warmer here in New England. I’m guessing in the fall I’ll give her one.
