How to use a tampon????

Hi ladies! I’m 16 and have verrrrrry heavy periods. I use overnight pads but they aren’t working that well. Aunt Flo stoped by today, and I want to try tampons. Any tips on how to use them? Thank you!

First, you should never sleep with a tampon in so maybe look into a menstrual cup or disc for sleeping. As for how to use tampon (there are instructions inside the box but I will still explain) first make sure you wash your hands. Its usually easiest if you stand with one foot up on the toilet.  hold the tampon like you would a syringe with your pointer and middle finger on the grooved part. insert the longer end up until you get to where your fingers are then push the smaller tube up. Pull the applicator out and make sure you see the string hanging. You shouldn't be able to feel the tampon. If its uncomfortable you might not have put it in high enough so either try to push it up with your finger or take it out and try again.

Tilt it back a little bit When you push it in and relax, push it in all the way so that a bit of your finger also is inside you becasue otherwise you Will feel it When you sit or lay down, or at least i do haha ((;
