Brown blood?

It's been 6 1/2 weeks since my last period, I'm not too sure when or if I ovulated. Last night I had a couple of spots of blood so I assumed my period was starting. Today I've had brown blood that's only light when I wipe and ive had no cramping when usually I would have cramping a couple of days before and the day I come on. I had a mc in January so I know there's a chance my periods are just a bit messed up. I took a test and I'm pretty sure it's negative. Has anyone ever had this? 🤷‍♀️
