Typical Tests for older moms??

Can someone please tell me the routine tests for older moms? Im 42, and will do the amnio, but they do not do PGS here in this country, plus we cant afford that.
Are there other tests you can do to confirm the baby has no birth defects & chromosome issues??

Try and find out if you can go for NIPT, they do a blood test at 10 weeks.

What’s PGS? In the US now we have what’s called “cell free dna” testing. They can take mom’s blood and test the baby’s dna for chromosomal issues. So it’s noninvasive and zero risk. It’s not diagnostic though. It is just an indicator of risk.

I got nipt test here in Canada it's covered for mom's over 40.  there then that there were lots of ultrasounds throughout

Amnio is no longer the automatic standard, as far as I know. There are blood tests you can do that are quite accurate and if they indicate further testing is needed, then you could do the amnio. It increases the risk of miscarriage for the rest of the pregnancy, so is best avoided if possible, I would think. PGS testing is done on embryos before IVF, but is not essential.
