How long do you feel you should date someone before marrying them?

The way to find out who someone truly is and to see if you can make it as a couple is the 3 year mark while living together. 3 years is really the ultimate test for some reason. With every couple I have spoke with that's what everyone agrees with!

I think the 3-5 is good. We went way extreme. We got married at 9 1/2 years together. Lived together for 5. Yes that's way extreme but we were good with it. It gave us time to build our lives together. Some rush and that's all well and good but everyone is different.

You dont truly know someone until you've been together for 3-4 years so I'd say a little past then. But 3 and 5 years are apparently the toughest to get through. After that it's probably going to last a long time. If not forever.

eh I picked one to three years but that’s assuming the couple is in their late 20s and over and that’s the bare minimum  
I suppose in reality it comes out to more like 3 to 5 years of dating. It takes a long time to really make such an important decision, don’t want any regrets now

I think 1-2 years. But I won’t seriously start considering marriage until around 27/28. I couldn’t imagine waiting more than 2 years for a proposal I ‘d be gone by then.

I just don't think there is a need to rush 🤷‍♀️ You want to make sure it's the right move and it takes a good few years and living with another person to really know them in and out. And living with someone can be the real test as thats when they are likely to start annoying you with messy habits etc. I've been with my boyfriend over 5 years now but we are still young, only 25 so still no rush.

We met at the end of December, and were engaged in March, married at the very beginning of August. Moved in together after marriage. Best decision in our lives. This August 3rd is our 5 year anniversary which we will celebrate with our 2 year daughter and 4 month (now) old son. We are super happy that we didn’t wait any longer and got married so early. And since I’m asked this a lot— no, I wasn’t scared to jump into such a serious decision, I was 100% he is my soulmate. Never felt anything like that before. Yes, we piss each other off sometimes, but nothing major that ever led to an regiment and left as mad at each other for longer than 30 min 🤷🏼‍♀️
