College??

Hey guys so I’m a junior in high school about to become a senior in June and I’m getting really nervous about college! I have this problem with not doing things correct on the first try thing for academics and it’s really bad and I’m trying to get help on it but it’s kind of tough especially at the end of the year. Wondered if anyone on the east coast know if professors let you do retakes? Or makeup work? Extra credit even??

I live and went to college on the east coast. Sometimes they offered extra credit, but I don’t think they really did retests. You could probably talk to the professor beforehand about strategies that might help. Also, some colleges have student success centers that teach you different ways to study

Every professor is different... most professors don’t allow you to make up or redo assignments but they do have extra credit opportunities

It 100% depends on the professor. Some have crazy late policies (can’t turn anything in the week after it was due, and losing points for every day it’s late) some give extra credit, some give you chances to redo things - some also give you chances to fix your mistakes and get half of the missing points added on to your original score (you get 5 out of 10, you fix your mistakes and get them all right the second time, the highest you can get is 7.5). There is no harm in asking your professor even if they don’t strictly have a policy on something. And if you end up failing a class? You can always retake it, maybe with a different professor next time around.
