C section scar smells bad?

I'm almost 4 weeks post surgery and my scar has an odor for about a week now....almost like a wet dog smell. I called dr and went in Friday and he said it's not infected. He said wash with warm soapy water, but I shower daily, usually twice daily. He removed the surgical tape and said that might help, but it still persists. Anyone have this issue, and if so any remedies?
