Miscarriage and genetic test results

I had a MMC and subsequent D&C; 3 weeks ago. The doctor told me today at my appt that the baby was a boy and had tri-21 (Down Syndrome).

We have an appt with a genetics specialist on the 30th, but I’m wondering if anyone else has had their genetic testing of the baby come back as tri-21? Did you try again?

I’ve read a ton today backing up what my OB said, as long as we aren’t carriers (and I believe we aren’t, but will be tested again if necessary), this was a fluke, and that there is no increased risk of this happening again.

All that said, I just want to put it out there that this baby would’ve been such a blessing to us. I’m in no way stating that I wouldn’t love my DS child.

Right now I feel scared to try again, but I’ll be 40 this year and time is ticking. I hope once I talk to the geneticist I’ll feel better about making an informed decision.
