Eating Success?

Question

Been trying purées for over a month now. Tried everything I can think of, but LO will only take two spoonfuls max. Tried feeding her and tried letting her feed herself, but she is still picky...only wants bottle. Any one else struggling with introducing foods

I think there’s a lot of pressure on these babies to be eating full meals right now. Their stomachs are still tiny, and all the nutrition they need comes from milk, either breast or formula. Food for now is practice, a way to get their taste buds warmed up for when they really do need to eat food, after they turn a year old. Don’t beat yourself up, or label the child a picky eater. Right now they’re just babies, and they won’t be that for long ;)

Some babies don’t like purées. It’s a texture thing. You could try giving small pieces of real food?

This might sound funny but try eating in different places. At first my son seemed uninterested and uncomfortable, so we feed him in the bath tub, in my arms, and eventually back in his bumbo in front of the mirror. He really enjoyed watching it all now he eats in his high chair at the table. Some days he is just not interested in food so I don’t push it. Others he wants more more more. 
Don’t stress about it. Keep trying new and different things. I had hoped to do baby led weaning, but he had no interest in that so we are sticking to purée for now and I keep trying little chunks here and there.

Yes! My baby is really not digging purées and doesn’t like the spoon being put in her mouth. I’m going to start trying some baby led weaning bc she might like it better? I feel a lot of pressure bc of everyone who says their kids are already eating so many things but I’m trying to be patient and let her do it at her own pace. It’s just for experimentation for now!

My son is so picky! Only likes veggies and he hates ALL fruits. Carrots upset his belly also. I still have him try it! Maybe he’ll like more stuff later on.

I tried purees awhecback and she wasn't ready. Her tongue thrust reflex was still strong. 
I moved on to baby led weaning. She had tons of fruit and veggies raw. She seemed to do so much better when she fed herself. I tried purees again, just to see how she took it and all is well. she eats about 4 or 5 table spoons without issue.

My babe isn’t really interested in food either. We keep trying! I know he’s getting some because his diapers are now so stinky!

My daughter will not eat puréed food but loves what me and my husband eat. So I give her what we eat as long as it isn’t super spicy.
