Say you have been trying to get together with a friend who has been flaking on you a lot lately. Then she says she finally has a day off which happens to be a day you're busy. But you decide to move some things around bc you don't get to see that person often. You tell them you'll rearrange your schedule, but to give you time to do so.

Right when you finally do nail a time down that someone can watch the kids for you, they inform you all of a sudden that they have a doctors appointment. When you say, hey that's not cool, why didn't you tell me you had an appointment while we were spending all day trying to plan this? They respond with - they don't need to feel guilty for taking care of their health.

Do you think the polite thing to do would be to tell the friend that's rearranging their schedule for you that you aren't as available as you claimed to be?
