Is there a difference between a vacation and travelling?

Emma

So my boyfriend and his family say they are completely different words and can’t ever be used interchangeably. They are strict about this and get mad when I say they are the same.

But I was raised using them interchangeably....

so I’m wondering if I’m the only one who says they are the same

If you choose “depends on context” please leave a comment to explain how you see it!

(p.s. my whole extended family says they are the same)

(Also I’m not looking for people to hate on my bf and his family, so please keep those comments to yourself)
