Gestational Diabetes?

Question

anyone been diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes? Can you tell me what changed for you? Were you considered high risk/more appointments/ had to have C-section in the end? Just want to be prepared in case I fail the 3 hour glucose test. I failed the 1 hour today and the test made me extremely sick and hours later I'm still feeling very bad so I am insanely nervous about failing the 3 hour. 😭😭😭

I am considered high risk because I had preeclampsia with my last pregnancy, and now I have GD, but it is controlled with diet and monitoring my glucose levels. I will have more scans because of what happened in my first pregnancy just to be safe. Although I did have a c-section the last time, I am currently a good candidate for a VBAC so long as my blood pressure cooperated.

I had GD with my second pregnancy.I was just a few points over.I just controlled it with diet and wasn't really restricted anything.I ate less carbs and watched my sugar intake.I also tested my blood suagr 4x a day with a home glucose meter. I wasn't considered high risk and continued with normal appts.I did however have a c-section not because I had GD but because I had already had one with my first pregnancy and wasn't a good candidate for a vbac.

I was diagnosed a few weeks ago, but since I've been controlling it through diet, my doctor isn't treating me any differently. I will be having a growth scan or two between 32 and 36 weeks to monitor baby's size and the placenta, but that's the only difference so far.
