No shimmer in crease?

Why are you not supposed to put a shimmer or metallic eye-shadow in your crease? I do it nearly everyday and I love how it looks. I'm not going to do or not do something with make up just because its a rule. But im genuinely curious about the reason.

There are no rules to makeup. If you like how it looks, then keep rocking it that way.

The reason people say that is because it brings forward your crease as opposed to deepening it and wanting the eye more defined. Most people keep the matte colours in the crease and above and then shimmers on the lid - this is just personal preference though to most people but that's essentially why xx

I've never heard that before. I don't follow trends or any "rules" when it comes to makeup. Do what you think looks good. :)

The only thing I’ve heard is to not bring metallic/shimmer above the crease, so just keep it on the lid. I have heard to not put it in the crease or areas that would essentially bring attention to wrinkles or creases. The dark and bolder the color the deeper that part of your skin looks. So unless you don’t mind accentuating the crease, then do whatever the heck you want!
