anyone use glass baby bottles?

if you do do you like them better then the plastic ones?

Yep we are a 100% glass household. We use the Avent glass. Very heavy and durable. Everyone assumes they break easily but they really don’t! In two years of owning them I dropped one in my cement sink and it chipped and cracked another on a rough uneven cracked sidewalk. My daughter tosses them all the time and she’s never busted them 🤷🏻‍♀️ they are worth the investment- you never have to worry about what might be leaching into your baby’s warm bottle.

We use the glass joovy boob bottles and love them! They have a silicone sleeve so I’m not worried about them breaking. Yes they’re a tad heavier, but it really doesn’t make a difference. Baby will learn how to hold them regardless of the weight! I love that they don’t scratch or absorb smell or anything. They just feel so much cleaner and safer to me chemical wise.

I used Joovy with my first but because of my second baby's 'suck' she was getting a lot of air so I had to switch to MAM which are plastic. I really hated using plastic and I think they wear down easily. I really preferred the glass Joovy bottles. Another commenter says they don't allow them in daycare, but I sent my first child to daycare with glass bottles and they were more than happy to accommodate so if uiure using a daycare, check with them beforehand.

I use the Dr. Brown glass bottles . I would highly recommend. And btw I have dropped them many times and just because they are glass I was worried about them breaking or chipping. Nope! Still going strong at nearly 1 year!

I thought I wanted to use glass because the they are safer for heating. However, something to consider - you can't send glass bottles to day care, and also babies drop bottles on everything, the floor, their face, etc as they get older. I suggest using a glass jar to heat milk up but sticking with the plastic bottle. Joovy has a line with safer plastics, we really liked them, they worked great for transitioning from the bottle to the breast.

I feel like glass is probably better than plastic as far as chemicals go, but I never used the glass ones because I was too worried that they’re fragile and didn’t want them breaking.
