HELPP??!!??!!

i’m 17 and i want to start using birth control but i don’t know which one to use, i can’t talk to my parents bc they would kill me if they found out i was sexually active. could you tell me which one worked best for you and they symptoms you had ?

There are so many different options and pros and cons to all of them. I’d make an appointment with your doctor or at planned parenthood to discuss options. The are so many different options even just with the pill. Some are approved to help with acne and some are not ant may trigger it. I personally would not opt to take the pill because it requires you to take it daily (which is ok for some, but not something I like doing... you can miss two in a month and double up on the dose, but if you miss a third, you have to stop and start again the next month). I would look into the Nuvaring, the depo-provera shot, the implant, the patch, or an IUD (probably the most expensive option, but it can last 3-10 years depending which one you choose). Like I said, there are pros and cons to all of them, but I would go with one that is longer acting. Planned parenthood is a good option if you don’t want your parents to know.

I'm 17, I started on the Apri pill in December. The first week or two I got nauseous a little whilr after taking the pill. Also I have chronic headaches and it made my headaches worse for the first 2 weeks. After that ive been fine, I get nauseous still when I miss one and have to double up. Other than that I have peace of mind when I have sex and I recommend it
