Hey breastfeeding mama’s! When did your baby start to self wean?

Just curious of what to expect!

My son is 17 months on the 5th still going strong. WHO says babies don’t self wean till 2+. They may not ask for it as often or need it for comfort (as the only thing that will comfort them) but they’ll still nurse 1-4 times a day depending on the day.

Self weaning can be a long process. Hard to pin point when they all started. But my kids have weaned at 3.5, 2.5, and 2 years. My youngest is a little over 2 and I’m anticipating she will self wean by high school. No promises though.
 It will likely be within the next year more seriously. But she really loves her “nursies” right now. So I think we’ve got some time.

My son started to self wean at 9 months and I tried to push it to a year (ended up breastfeeding just shy of a year but only once a day). He wanted absolutely nothing to do with breastfeeding anymore and was more concerned with everything going on around him!

😞 NEVER 😀 lol my 1st Born was 3 years old and didn't want to stop breastfeeding 😊 I had to put Jalapeño 🌶 on my nipples to get her to stop 🤷‍♀️ lol 😄 it worked 👍🏼

My son self weaned at 22 months, but i was also 5weeks pregnant. He had slowly started to decrease feedings the last month.
