Does a summer baby really need hats?

Depends - do you mean when in the sun or the baby hats for sleeping? Babies do not need hats while sleeping as it is better for them to be on the cooler side but a sun hat is always a good idea!

They don't need hats to regulate tempature as it use to be pushed that  babies always have a hat on even if it's summer. That's not what's recommended anymore. I would maybe put a sun hat on if in the sun but other than that it's not needed.

indoor for the first week maybe.  I'm struggling w this as well as my first two kids were born in cooler months. I've repacked her bag a millions times cuz I packed pants socks and hats and she's not gonna need that in 90 degree weather

My July baby was a “hot baby” and always sweating. But keep in mind baby’s heads are a little funky shaped the first week or so ...hats are cute!

If it’s windy you’re suppose to cover their ears, otherwise only a sun hat if needed.
