When should we tell our son we are pregnant!

Question

My boyfriend has a son that’s almost 7. With of course a different mother. I just recently found out I’m pregnant. When should we tell him he’s going to be a big brother? Few weeks a month? 
The problem is, we will have to inform his mother. Which I don’t want her telling anyone. Because we are getting announcement photos done in the next month.

Yeah I’d wait till you announce. 
I have a 7 and 2 1/2 year old and I didn’t tell them till 22 weeks, then I announced it to people about a week after that. 
As soon as a 7 year old knows, so does everyone. 😂😂

we have full custody pretty much of my step kids..we told them pretty early on they were 6 & 7 about to turn 7 & 8..i was worried they were going to tell their mother quick so we explained why to wait since i was in my first trimester &i; didnt wanna lose the baby & stress can make it so i do & i really want them to have a younger sibling..they felt the same way so they managed to keep it a secret until we told them they can tell people..i was highly impressed but i do recommend waiting until at least closer to when you'll tell everyone

My older kids are 9 (twins) and 6.  I did tell them not to tell anyone, but I also waited until I was ok with other people knowing because I knew they probably wouldn't keep it a secret.  I didn't tell their dad (my ex husband)  about the pregnancy because I figured it wasn't really his business.  Although I knew he'd find out eventually from them.

We told my stepson after the 12 week scan, my boyfriend text his mum just to let her know for when he went home talking about his new brother or sister. I’d wait till after the announcement if I was you
