My Turn... πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™

Dawn

So it's finally my turn to tell my birth story... Let me just start by saying it was very hectic... I didn't think it would come together but it did... So... here it goes... I woke up on May 24th with a headache that would not go away. I was 37+6. I decided to take my blood pressure since I have a history of preeclampsia... Well low and behold it was 163/98 the first time I took it... I laid down for a little while and took it again... It was 153/98... Time to call my Dr. I was told to go to the hospital where I would be monitered of course... I get there get hooked up and blood pressure went down to 122/73... and urine test came back negative for protein... Of course...Since my blood pressure went down and labs were good and I had my 38 week check up the next day they sent me home... well overnignt, my almost 2 yr old daughter started vomiting and got a high fever... Turns out she got a stomach virus... Not to mention my fiance was out of town for his older son's graduation from boot camp in Oklahoma...After being up all night with my daughter, I head to my check up... While there blood pressure was elevated and I had traces of protein in urine... So she decided to send me to the hospital again to be induced to prevent any further complications...So here I am getting sent to the hospital While my almost 2 year old has a virus and is throwing everything up, and my fiance is out of town... Awesome... Thankfully my grandmother was in town to help... She took my daughter to the Dr. While I headed to the hospital... Started the induction on May 25th at around 3pm. Called my fiance to let him know what was up and hoped that he could make it back in time. mind you he was in Oklahoma and we live in Pensacola...He made the whole trip and even attended his sons graduation in less than 48 hrs... Anyways... Labor was going smoothly up until the Dr broke my water... Then all he'll broke loose. The contractions came fast and hard... I finally asked for an epidural at around 6 cm. The anesthesiologist gets to my room and starts the procedure only to tell me that he can't find a good space in my spine because of My scoliosis and the fact that my spine is twisted... I had no idea... He tried 2 times and finally got it after an hr. sweet relief... Got to nap a little... My fiance made it in at around 5 am on May 26th... Well around 945am The contractions were beginning to hurt so I asked for a little more meds... Thesa nurse administered some, but it turns out the epidural came out of my back and was missed... by then I was 8 to 9 cm... So the nurse called for the Dr and before I knew it was time to push. 2 contractions later my little man was born... And let me tell you I felt it ALL! But it was so worth it... He was born with a true knot in his umbilical cord that was missed. All was going good after he was born for a couple of hours until he was checked because his breathing was off... turns out he didnt get All of the fluid out of his lungs and developed pneumonia... Hes on antibiotics and will be fine thankfully... Please welcome Mr. Dalton
