Can I sleep on my back?

I love sleeping on my back and sometimes it’s the only position that lets me go into sleep... but I heard it’s not good..?

So I like to sleep on my back too! Didn’t realize how much until I wasn’t “allowed to”. My solution is to prop a pillow under half of my body (half on pillow, half on bed). This allows me to kind of sleep on my back while making sure my belly is tilted enough. It’s helped so much

My doctor told me not to, because there is a major blood vessel that is behind the uterus. When you lay on your back the weight of the uterus compresses the blood vessel, and slows blood flow to the baby.

I’ve heard that sleeping on your left side is the best. I’m not 100% on the reason behind it, some say it helps with blood flow. But I usually wake up on my back and I’m fine. (25 weeks)

Yes but switch on your side from time to time help the blood stay moving into the placenta so lay on your left

My doctor told me that I can continue to sleep on my back and this only factors in later in pregnancy. She also told me that if you are slowing blood flow to the baby by sleeping on your back, you will move before it becomes a danger as your body will respond before you’re even aware.

Most of the time I just woke up on my back. You will feel when your flow is compromised. Shit hurts

I’ve read online that it can reduce blood flow to the uterus but my mother says that it’s not as bad especially when you can’t sleep any other way. Personally I snuggle a thick blanket/pillow/my husband and stay on my side when I sleep.
