Pediatric Surgeries?

Hey, I have a question. 
How does the feeding work for an infant/newborn before surgery. For adults we normally can’t eat 12 hours before surgery but I doubt that’s he same for infants. 
Anyone have any experience. 
He’ll be under general anesthesia and his appointment is at 2:30pm

My son had emergency surgery at 6 weeks for Pyloric Stenosis and they made sure it had been at least 8 hours after feeding to do the surgery. We had been in the ER since the early morning and baby was very tired and out of it though so not eating wasn’t too much of an issue for him.

My son was not allowed anything for 4 hours before his circumcision at 3 months old, and he wasn’t even under general anesthesia. So he was basically allowed his middle of the night feeding but not anything after.

Dang a 2:30 appointment?!? is there anyway to get the earliest time? Switch it to a different day if it's not an emergency surgery? when my son had his he was the first surgery that day. I believe last feeding was at 8-10pm I forget and was at the hospital at 6:30 for a 8am surgery. chances are your LO won't be able to eat all day!

You should definitely speak with someone to see what they recommend. When my son had surgery at 1 year old.. he wasn't allowed anything but clear liquids after midnight. His surgery was at 8am though.

You should ask the surgeon what the protocol
Is. I doubt they would make an infant fast for 12 hours but I’m sure there is some time frame before the procedure.
