Pediatrician? FTM😁

Question

I picked a pediatrician online that is in a convenient location for us. I called the office, asked if they accept new patients and told them I have Medical. They said yes, when I have the baby follow the hospital's instructions and either they or I call them to schedule an appointment. Is that it? I don't need to do anything else? First baby here, so we have no idea...😂

In my experience I called a Dr and they took my son's info and estimated date of birth. They told me once I have him the hospital contacts the Dr and he comes. That's exactly what happened. Hours after my c section the pediatrician we chose came and visited every day we were at hospital sometimes more than once a day.

I had my son in April. After he was born, I had to call the medicaid line and tell them that he was born and set up the pediatrician to be his primary care physician, then I called the pediatrician and set up his appointment.

Call Medicaid and see if they need the name of the pediatrician for insurance purposes. The hospital will need to send any of your baby’s records to the new doc, so Jake sure you ask!

When I called our perspective pediatrician they said they are accepting new patients and to call about a month ahead of the due date so we could come in and meet the doctors. Haven’t had the baby yet so don’t know how it works afterwards though I know it’s a group that visits the babies in the hospital
