Is it normal to get sick in your period?

My third period (coming soon in like2-4 days) and I’m getting sick. On my first and second period I got REALLY sick. I was throwing up, and had splitting headaches, stomachaches and bad lower back pain. It lasted the entirety of my period and stopped when my period stopped. I’m wondering if this is normal?

Those symptoms are generally normal. But I think that once it gets to that point where it’s debilitating and really keeping you from doing normal things on your period - that you should probably talk to a doctor about it. Birth control can sometimes help keep those symptoms from getting so intense and I’m sure your doctor could give other advice as well.

You don’t deserve to be in pain. And you don’t have to. Talk to your gyn about using birth control to stop or lessen your periods. ❤️
