Are preemie onesies worth buying?

My mom has always told me not to buy newborn sizes or preemie but I did go and buy just a couple because my doctor said my son might have a low birth weight and be small, did any of you mamas buy preemie sizes?

We didn't and ended up needing to go to buy preemie clothes for her just a few days PP. Buy them, leave the tags on and keep the receipt. That way if you don't need them, you can return them.

i bought a couple of preemie outfits but only took the tag of one of them just incase he didn’t fit and i could return the rest! that god i didn’t take the tags off lol my baby wasn’t very big (he was 6lbs13oz) he was verrrry long. so preemie was too small.

I’ve bought newborn for my daughter for her to wear while at the hospital bc I want her clothes to fit and not be loose , it’s not a waste of money .. just don’t take the tags off until you’re getting ready to put him in it so you can take it back or exchange it for a bigger size . My son was only 6’ 14 and everything was literally falling off of him so my mom had to go buy newborn stuff for him to wear for a few weeks once we got home from the hospital

My son is almost 2 weeks and the 0-3 Months cloths are HUGE on him, So I was very happy that I bought newborn clothes 😌

Maybe buy a couple newborn sizes. We never bought brand new newborn size onesies; we went to thrift stores. Even if baby is small, they still don't stay in newborn sizes very long. Also, different brands fit differently. Gerber onesies are shorter and skinnier than Carter's brand. So Carter's will fit longer than Gerber.
